Big Weekend... Birthday & Baptism!

It's been an exciting weekend! Saturday was Claire's 3rd birthday party at Gymboree. Despite the rainy weather, all of her friends were able to be there and the kids all seemed to have a great time. It was a great way to wrap up Claire's week long birthday celebration! Sunday was an exciting day too... Kate was baptized at our church, St. Paul's United Methodist. We were even able to have Rev. Charles Ruehl, now a retired minister, perform the baptism which made it extra special. Charles married us, baptized Claire, baptized Kate today, and will marry Lindsey and Greg in January. Kate was a little angel during the service... we couldn't have asked for it to turn out any better!

Here are a few pics from our big weekend..

Happy Birthday Claire!

My baby turned 3 today! I know it's cliche, but these years really have gone by so fast! Our birthday agenda: started the day at Chuck E Cheese (Claire's favorite... and Emily even got to come too), had lunch with the girls, a quick nap, ballet class, and then dinner at Rudy's (another favorite) with birthday cake! And that's just the beginning. Tomorrow, we'll take cookies to school to celebrate and then the party is on Saturday. The fun has just begun!

She told everyone that she saw today..."it's my birthday today! I'm three!" So excited and proud!!

My big 3 year old!

Can't you see this in about 13 years??

Labor Day Weekend

We took our first road trip with both of the girls this weekend. Claire has been wanting to "go to Garrick's house and go swimming" all summer, so Labor Day weekend was the perfect opportunity for a trip to Frisco to visit Matt, Lisa, and Garrick. We spent most of the weekend in the pool and had a really good time. Even Kate got to take a dip! It was a great visit and Claire's already asking when we're going back!

Little One

Kate is getting bigger every day and won't be our "little one" (as Claire likes to call her) for very long. Thought I'd share a couple pics from our photo sessions this week!

BFFs

Tommy just returned from a week long trip to California, so we've definitely had our share of "girl time" lately. We also got to hang out quite a bit with my friend Christine and her two girls, Emily and Alexandra. Tommy and Mark (their dad) are partners in a wine distribution company and periodically have to take "business trips" to Napa (sounds rough, huh?). Claire & Emily were born 6 weeks apart and Kate & Alexandra are 10 weeks apart (built-in best friends)! Luckily, the big girls LOVE to spend time together and are always looking for an excuse to get together and play or eat.... for some reason they're obsessed with having lunch or dinner together! With the daddies gone, we had plenty of excuses this week. Here are a couple pictures of the girls!

Kate & Alexandra in their bibs and bumbos

Kate needs to take some posing lessons from Alexandra

Emily and Claire... those two are always eating something!

We went to see Elmo... Emily wasn't a huge fan!
